That's really cool, a functional antique. That's suitable for hanging over the mantle.
I had an old 'granny gun' single shot 12 gauge that I displayed on the side of the fireplace mantle before the tragic boating accident. It was a gift, so I have no idea of the age or provenance, but I was told it was functional. Never tried it out.
