Not true, not by a long shot.
An officer fires (or only should fire) to eliminate the
immediate threat of death or serious injury. Agreed?
So, what is the definition of immediate? Gun in the car? In the waistband? In hand, but pointed at the ground?
We may all have a different opinion, but when did a passive, unarmed man become that level of threat? When did one who is running away fall into that category?
That line has clearly shifted over the last few years, to the point where seeing a weapon, hell even thinking that the perp
might be reaching for a weapon, has become justification for firing at (killing, basically) someone.
When did this get thrown out? (....and yes, Michael Brown was in the red)
