Compared to the C4 coilover installation, those are a walk (blindfolded) in the park to install.
Bryan, the C5 front shock tower is thinner than the C4's. I would recommend you to do what you recommended me to do on mine.
Now...I've seen many C5 with coilovers (Track, street and Auto-X), and none failed yet.
