Creating the program may or may not have been a Republican thing, I don't have the energy to research that right now.
However, providing a $500 million dollar loan to prop up the company, then restructuring it so that the stockholder (note singular) was placed ahead of the taxpayers on the repayment list (in a 100% about face on the treatment of stock and bondholders in the Chrysler/GM bailouts) is Obamaloving Democrat freewheeling politics at it's best.
