Zimmerman's story was found to be substantiated by police during their first investigation. Under the self defense laws in florida, the case was pretty much done.
That is until Trayvons racist parents called in a bunch of other racists to start making up stories about Zimmerman (calling him white) and twisting what had been established in the first police investigation.
