During my school days, anyone wearing green on Thursdays was considered "queer." Any day really, but especially on Thursdays. Boys, who generally don't give a crap what color clothes we have on, had to double-check them on Thursday mornings when dressing.

This carried on to ANYTHING you had that was green including cars. Not sure how that all got started, but by the time I had my Harley painted green (late '90s) it was all forgotten about.

But I think it was just a local thing cuz I mentioned it here before, and I don't think anyone else knew about it. But this was in the early to mid 1960s, so it probably died out before younger guys heard about it.
