Of course, as @Aerovette will gladly tell you, your average speed includes all the times you are stopped at a red light or at a gas station or driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic, which tend to bring your average speed way down. So when you're in light traffic you must be doing significant bursts of 160MPH.
