A "living" wage is subject to interpretation. It should be a competitive wage however.
I would rather flip burgers for minimum wage than wait tables for $2.00 and hour plus tips.
Now, if you make both a minimum wage job, I'd rather wait tables and do it well enough to earn tips on top of minimum wage.
