The constitutional functions of the Federal gov't is very short list. Road, schools, healthcare, welfare.... are all the constitutional domain of the states. In short, and IMO they were nationalized in the belief that someone else would pay for their pet project.
The fact that one use(d)(s) Federally funded public schools, roads, etc. does not make one a hypocrite. There is no other legal choice, especially considering that a significant portion of our wages have been confiscated at the point of a gun and used in ways we have no real control over. That's like saying that if I don't vote I have no right to complain about the state of government. Either I own the fruits of my labor or I don't. Either our creator endowed us with an unconditioned natural right to freedom/pursuit of happiness or he didn't.
LATB is correct. If we saw the itemized list of our tax bill there would be a revolution.
