A quick (at least to me) funny. Hope it brightens your day.
Every Sunday, I visit my 96 y/o MIL at her nursing home.
Marianne got her affection for the felines from her mother.
Anyway, I'm telling her about my trip to the vet on Friday,
taking CryBaby in for his final rest. She was aware the guy was
fatally ill, and we got to talking about the time she spent at our house
prior to Marianne becoming ill, and thus MIL going to the nursing home.
So, I star rambling off the names of the cats that used to use her as a
bed when she perched herself in my recliner.
I get to Lardo, which Marianne at first called something else (normal cat
name I can't recall), and MIL looks at me, and breaks out laughing, "Lardo,
you gave him that name". Got to be well over a year that I've heard the old lady laugh like that. Kind of made the visit joyfull.
