Those are CB radios. No license needed, as they are limited to the CB band and hard switched between channels. Max was 5w at one time.
Contrast that with a basic handheld from Baofeng for $30. If you have any rf sense at all you can jack the gain and start a radio station

The switches I worry about are not at the home, they are at neighborhoods and areas. You didn't need to sign up for shit to have that.
