Not around here. Our stone masons, framers, concrete guys, roofers, insulators, were mostly non-English speaking but I wouldn't call them unskilled. Their boss is always Anglo and speaks fluent Spanish. Maybe not skilled in the way you or DaveConcrete are, but they are better than the guy that sits on a rock saw or spreads mulch.

Exactly, the American dream. We are not producing enough young laborers, whether it be through education or decreased procreation. My house would never have been built without Mexicans, or I couldn't afford it. It is better in every way than any previous house I had, whether it was built by the owner in 1938 or by contractors in 1976 and 1994. The millwork in the 1938 house was truly outstanding though.
