The NYT did everything they could to cover up Stalin's starvation of 6-8 million Ukrainians in the 1930s. The NYT Moscow chief, Walter Duranty, knew what was going on but kept hiding it in his reports, "Everything is fine!" Hardly anyone, worldwide, knew what was going on.
The NYT has always loved interviewing (and siding with) dictators.
They don't want Tucker interviewing Putin because some uncomfortable truths for the left might (likely will) come out.
