Not too keen on the subject since I'm an omnivore but according to what little I've read there are quite a few vitamins and nutrients in meat that other natural foods don't provide in quantities sufficient to sustain a healthy life. Vegetarians either ingest these things using supplemental pills bought off the shelf or die a slow miserable death.
