LOL....a friend has an 1881 Manlicher military rifle with a straight bolt and an additional factory sight on the side of the barrel for use in shooting men off of horses (establishes automatic lead). It is chambered for 11 mm Egyptian. No problem there, since his dad bought 3,000 rounds in stripper clips in 1969 for $10. These are black powder, bottle necked cartridges with paper patched 250 -300 grain bullets. We took this thing out to the desert and shot 100 rounds with it at 240 yards. All of the ammo was dated 1886---so it was 130+ years old at the time. Out of 100 rounds, we had one split case/misfire. It was accurate, awesome to shoot, and an oddball. Looked on line and those rounds go for more than $20 apiece and in 5 shot stripper clips, forget it.
We were burning it up like it was .22 LR!!! (he still has about 2500 rounds left, though.)
