WEEK 3 COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMEDAY THREAD
FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL:- UCF @ Louisville (7:30pm EST on ESPN)
- Maryland @ Illinois (9pm EST on FS1)
There are some big-time ranked match-ups this Saturday. #1 Alabama heads into the swamp to take on #11 Florida. We'll quickly find out just how good (or not) UF's offense is following the departure of Kyle Trask and some great weapons, and the arrival of a QB controversy in Gainesville. The nightcap after 10pm Eastern Time pits #18 Arizona State against #23 BYU. BIG opportunity for BYU to make a statement and start pushing Cincy for that Group of 5 New Year's Bowl berth.
GAME OF THE WEEK: #22 Auburn @ #10 Penn State
GREAT early season inter-conference match-up between the SEC and the B1G. Bo Nix has looked much improved so far. Hell, Auburn as a whole has looked much improved - buttoned up, disciplined, playing at their best and not down to the level of competition. Therein lies the rub, they ain't played nobody worth a damn yet. Enter going on the road at night to Happy Valley to take on a Penn State squad that has already been in Auburn's position and triumphed - winning a slugfest on the road at Wisconsin to begin the season. This is an opportunity for Penn State to make a statement and push for playoff position. It's an opportunity for Harsin and Auburn to prove they are for real. Should be a great one under the lights!
