ok, that would be the direct approach, and I could decide whether to grant her wish or not.
or she could offer me one from her supply (i carry a few bottles of water in the truck, if you look thirsty, i'll offer you one).
but NO.....
she just jumps to the most drastic solution she can think of: "you should be arrested"
or she could have gotten back in her car after seeing me and driven elsewhere on the property, so as to avoid my uncleanness.

My business partner's son worked for us when he was out of high school for a while, so maybe he was 20, 21, something like that. I guess a woman was driving on the roadway and there was some sort of road rage incident, the woman was apparently honking, tailgating, getting beside his truck, generally raging. His solution? Threw a full beer bottle at her windshield, where I guess, it shattered all over. He said that ended the encounter and he drove off. Boss move, but this was in the days before dash cams.
