Right out of HS I worked for an Equine vet and then a small animal vet. You literally have to be a baller to afford what they charge these days.
When my mastiff/Boxer had to have his cancerous leg amputated, it was 8K. Then chemo at $250 per session. We got 3 years with him after all that, and he was an amazing dog, was worth it but DAMN!
Not gonna lie, I have numbed my dogs before and done procedures on them at home. No way I am gonna pay $1500 to have a lipoma cut off! I drew the line at hacking my dogs leg
