While on a cruise a few years back I shared a table with a guy that was heavily tattooed. He told me the stories behind several of them and what they meant to him. None of them were the result of a night of partying ending with a trip to the parlor to get some ink or just to have another picture on his skin. It changed the way I look at them regardless of gender. I still don't like them when they appear generic or just adornment.
I'll probably never have any but understand why normal, thoughtful people sometimes do.
