Oh yeah, the “lath” in this case is metal screen, not wood strips. Shower repair pic.

Our first house was a 1912 Sears. Bathroom floor was formed between floor rafters and poured concrete. Busted my ass getting rid of it. 12# sledge became the tool. Rest of bathroom like yours but was easy compared to floor.
