I've been thinking of trying a half marathon, and I bet I could do it in about 100 minutes. But I'd get bored as hell slogging along at an 8:00/mile pace.

The McMillan Running Calculator does a pretty good job showing equivalent times. A 39.36 10k is about a 1:28 1/2 marathon. This assumes equal training and a similar course. So you'd have to get some long runs in. But you'd easily be much, much faster than 1:40.
