Anyway, the extinction of a species is caused almost entrirely by human encroachment on the species' habitats, not by hunting. Poaching of rhinos and elephants for their tusks to obtain a supposed aphrodisical ingredient is leading to the extinction of certain species of rhinos and to an unecessary loss of epephants, but legal hunting is not.

That fact has karmic weight for the hunter(might be positive,might be bad) but for those who don't believe in spiritual accountability it is fine to just follow the "laws" Joe is speaking about Sport hunting and its increasing revenue base especially for the poor countries of Africa.
