Make sure you do not crush the bulb. The pliers i have in the picture are fully closed with the jaws already...

I have a small pair of needle nose vice grips...

I have a small pair of needle nose vice grips with the tips wrapped in tape. Adjust the size of the pliers to the bulb size so you do not crush it.
