I Finally Got My CCW Permit

7 months, and 3 weeks....I applied on January 31st....

Oh well..... It's carry time....:hurray:
It's about time I can buy some pistols.
We can co-register pistols in NYS, so my cousin is going to let me put his Super Redhawk and his Ruger P-94 on my permit, as well as my Ruger LC-9.
Yay !!!

SRH would work fine with a trench coat and a chest holster because blowing an arm off somebody is guaranteed to change some evil intentions... But I only use mine as a coach gun. Definately prefer the 4" model 29 for social situations :cert:

Very cool. While I'm not a gun owner, it's always nice to get something you've waited a long ass time for.

I'm glad for you. NY is a picky state. I am privileged to have the 50 state plus any US territory permit for CCW. You have done well. NJ and the communist wealth of MD are also a PITA states.

Congrats :seasix:

My PA permit simply states "permit to carry firearms".

HOW in hell you going to carry one of them in FLORIDA, under T shirt and shorts???

think I going to dress like Minnesota for carrying....THAT is the reason I don't bother.....

every day life...banks, shopping mall, driving, WTF??

HOW to handle it you got a clue, anyone??

badbirdcage 09-21-2012 8:03pm

If you don't carry full time you needn't bother to carry at all. You can't guess when it might happen. Yes, to the convenience store, the deli, the bank, etc.

Model 27 Glock fits on the waistband quite well and conceals easily under a T shirt using the belt clip. 40 s&w is a great anti personnel round and shoots flat for a long distance. Standard mag is nine rounds and I carry a 14 round back up. I prefer the H&K but the Glock carries more easily in a concealed applocation. For anyone not familiar with semi automatic pistols magazines are the primary cause of failures to function on any semi automatic weapon. Carry a back up. Not for the quantity but for the availability should the primary magazine fail. Primary combat rule is that if six won't get you out of the situation there is a problem. You shouldn't be in siege mentality, you should be in survival mode.

A 22 caliber will do the job if the shot placement is correct.

I can be more specific. The trick is with the belt. With the right belt you can carry anything anywhere. Been using the same one myself for >10 years now.

Belts

Still can't get my head around how all that works, given my 68 y/o gut hang over my Texas belt buckle and fairly slender frame, for a fairly active guy, under cars, around the house, driving, doing typical active life....

I can't get over the physics/mechanics of just HOW to carry....

hard to tell over just internet pix.....maybe need some time to explore it better here locally....for one thing, learn the specific laws.....
