Spark plugs and wires

I am going to set up my H/C install appointment tomorrow morning and I was wondering if I should by new spark plugs and wires to top it off? If so what kind shuld I buy?

NGK TR-55s and OEM wires... it all depends on how old your stock stuff is, but I'd go w/ new plugs for sure.... wires will be fine unless one is damaged, but if they're your original ones then I'd repalce. Scour CF for someone selling a stock set cheap b/c they wasted $$$ on Magnecor's or Taylors etc. etc.

I change my plugs and oil every time I change the engine...

NGK TR55 and stock wires are fine. GMPP also has wires but I don't have any experience with them.

FYI GMPP wires are OEM wires that are red in color. Some of the later C5s started coming w/ red wires. My 2003 vert has them and my father's 2004 Z16 had them.

TR-55s
or
TR-6 with some gas.........I run both in my 97' :D
GMPP reds with Koolsox Spark Plug Wire Thermal Heat Protective Socks to preclude wire burn :yesnod:

FWIW I never had any wire burn issues w/ the stock wires and OEM metal heat shields running Kooks LTs for many many miles and 20+ HPDEs in the car. Some LT brands doe come closer to the plug wires on a few clyinders and may cause an issue.... I think I remember the LGs doing this.

TPIS headers here. the wires were never a problem, but I did burn an O2 sensor.

Those are ceramic coated. That does help in preventing burnt wires. :yesnod:

I've never burned a wire on my coated headers, even with a couple of the boots actually touching the header tubes (not using wire socks or the metal insulators either).

More like 4-5K. I've had the car 6 years and added 35k since I bought it.:drivingskid:

I was running the MSD wires with LG LT's and no problems. I ruined them changing my plugs so I got some 8mm wires from Jeggs cuz they are yellow and match my car, no problem with those either.
