Total number registered for 2010 Cruise In - 110

According to the NCM, as of this morning there are a total of 110 people registered for cruise in this year. Its the lowest number ever.

I would like to thank the staff at the CF for effing up an annual get together I looked forward to for almost a decade.

Thanks to your favoritism, piss poor micro management, uneven application of rules, over zealous pursuit of people with personalities, and general lack of ethics, everyone that was fun to be around has either been kicked off the site or has moved on. Of course they will probably just blame the economy.

They have successfully driven off anyone with a personality. The cruise in this year should be fun to attend with all the conformist bots left on the site. Since you can't talk about babes, street racing or anything else that's fun, I guess all that's left is floor mats and maybe a class on deciphering WOEII's baby talk. Oh wait, I forgot they hate even him in private.

My grandfather once told me that your friends and associates are a good barometer of your life. When the number starts to decrease, you are either getting old or have turned into an a-hole.

The forum isn't old.

Mmmkay......tell us how you really feel, don't hold back.
:D

they'll probably hold a seance & try to contact Joe McCarthey. all the while Beck & Rush reruns will be playing on a special TV with gazillion watt speakers.

I won't be there either. I seriously considered it but after last year, which was yet another piss poor outcome, I figured I'd pass.

CF has turned into a ****hole of a forum, no thanks to Jesse and his other bible thumping zealots who want to run the place like a church. Screw em.

kylebuck 05-25-2010 11:41am

I wont be making it this year because we have one of our part timers Grandmothers pass, and today another part timer quit. So they need me there.

All good things must come to an end, so it seems. And so too, will CF I suppose. Now I've never been to a CI, and I honestly wouldn't know where to start. Is it run strictly through CF? Can't the NCM just get a hold of people through past attendance? It's exactly this type of BS politics that have kept me from joining any type of group - ever. I hope you find a way to hang out with the people you miss.

Bitter much?

You surely paint with a broad brush.

Wow, I was thinking of going next year vs the C4 ZR1 Cruise Inn I have been attending, maybe I need to attend the the C5/C6 Bash insteadhttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...Thumbsup-1.jpg

Sad... used to be one of my favorite events.... I agree w/ the OP's assessment.

Y2Kvert4me 05-25-2010 2:43pm

I'm actually surprised the number is that high. I would have guessed 50-60. I guess the wheel giveaway helped a little bit.

Heck, if I didn't have other plans this weekend, I'd have considered registering and make the 8hr drive just to attend the drawing. Who the heck would miss odds like that of snagging a $5k set of wheels.

Although CI has been steadily declining in attendance the past several years (pretty much ever since Troy sold out and IB and Jesse took over), I think only part of it is the "anti-CF" sentiment. As long as I've been going, there was always a good showing of the banned camp crowd in attendance too. :D

Last year was quite dismal in turnout. Could attribute that to the economy crash I suppose. This year was certainly destined to be worse, just because of what last year's event was (or rather, what it wasn't), and the staggering number of CI regulars that stated early on they weren't going this year. As with any big gathering, it is the crowd that draws the crowd. If your friends aren't going, why would you want to?

The loss of Roscoe's attendance this year I'm sure was a deciding factor for many too.

But despite the many reasons for it's demise, I don't see this event ever turning around to be what it once was. I will not be surprised one bit when the NCM announces this year was the last one they sponsor.

I usually go just to catch up with old friends I've made over the many years of going. Our company is in contract negotiations this year and all vacations have been put on hold until August. I have to work this Saturday but plan on taking the 1.5 hour trip down to catch up with a few of the old timers and maybe spank a C4/5/6 or two.:D:D

I don't have a personality and have been driven off too.

Iron Chef 05-26-2010 1:26am

The ONLY reason to attend that event this year would have been the dedication of Irish Mac's bench. I'm sad that I won't be there for it, but I won't set foot on any activity that has CF written on it. I was the one who started the thread to raise funds, but I'm sure that jackass savewave will take credit for it.

Fortunately, I had the good fortune to visit Bill's widow Kathy, who is as charming and wonderful as a person can be. I was able to say the things I wanted to her, so my conscience is a bit more at ease.

I have never been, and I have already said the parking lot party thing is not really my scene, but I would not mind going to meet some of the people I have enjoyed chatting with over the years, but as many have said, I will NEVER go as long as it is a CF event.

I like the suggestion that the Museum should some how take it over...I am sure they would have no problem getting co-sponsors for it.

A few years ago I MIGHT have agreed with you. Now, CF isn't a viable entity to drive it's own event. That plus the fact that the current administration over there has torpedoed relations with the museum by siphoning money to St. Judes and practically ignoring the museum (can you say "bite the hand that feeds you"??). The only thing left is Jim and Jesse's overinflated vision of how important CF is.

Who knows. Jim is there, so maybe if he takes a moment to stop looking for his own pecker (which he probably hasn't seen in over a decade) he might look up and see how many people AREN'T there and get a clue.

But I'm not betting on it.

Z06PDQ 05-27-2010 12:18pm

 at "pecker" :D

You know, that is really true.

Really bad idea. :nono:

NCM - just cease any support/planning/management of it.
And please tell Jim/Jesse why that was decided.

THAT is the only right thing to do.

If the CF diehards still want to gather there Memorial day weekend, NCM will still get the same level of business they currently are seeing, they just didn't expend any effort to receive it.

This shoe doesn't fit, thank you.

:kick:

I have too much going on right now to make a 17 hr jaunt to Bowling Green, although I'd love to see some friends who are there (Woody and Truck Guy, etc.)

Plus Kevin and I are doing some other things that are $$$$.

AND Iron Chef wasn't going.

So............all put together, Mike and I decided to throw a party instead!

Can't wait to see everyone who will be there.
