We ALL die of prostrate cancer. Bad genes. I will die of the
same thing in a few years. Thats life.

My parents passed at a decent age in there 70's but they were smokers. I never did or drink much and don't anymore. I'll probably go from TDS.

Not if you get it treated. Don't Zappa yourself.

being married for too many years.

87 years old, slipped and bumped his head on the bathroom vanity countertop when at his girlfriend's place one night (yes). Paralyzed, had inept neurosurgeon who couldn't localize the injury properly, eventually had spinal surgery but aspirated in post-op and went downhill fast.

Other one I never knew - massive heart attack in 1959.

Probably not in grandma's case.

Is that the cancer you get for laying face down too much?

Maternal Grandfather passed in 1932 at the age of (I think) 29. It is believed he had a rheumatic heart. Since I was born in 1964, I never met him. I don't have any pictures of him either.

My paternal Grandfather died in 1950 at the age of 52. The cause of death was officially stated as "natural causes", but most of the family that was alive then believed he died of a heart attack brought on by untreated hypertension. Surprisingly, I have no pictures of him either.

No male blood relative of mine has lived to see his 75th birthday in at least 3 generations. I think it is at least 4, but there are folks that far back on whom I have very little data.

I'm 60, and thinking of taking my SS as soon as I become eligible at 62. :yesnod:

I actually lost my last grandparent this weekend, very depressing, and the rain isn't helping.

One grandfather I never knew died from encephalitis at a pretty young age 57 in 1945.
Other grandfather died of colon cancer at 87 in 1987.

I lost my Father to colon cancer at 70 in 2000. My Mother died in 1992 at 61, not sure exactly what killed her, but it was probably her diabetes.

Aerovette 04-01-2024 3:55pm

One grandfather I only saw once when I was about 5. Don't know what got him.

The other grandfather had Alzheimers but died from heart failure.

VatorMan 04-01-2024 3:56pm

On Moms side- from what I heard he drunk himself to death. My Fathers side-peacefully @ 98 years old.

jw38 04-01-2024 4:04pm

35 years old. He allegedly "fell" off a cliff. I think he was pushed because he was VERY wealthy and other family members wanted it. My mother was only 10 years old when he died.

That's not something to just lay down for.
