Fake Spring is Over

Drove the Z06 to work for the last 2 weeks.

Back to single digit temps (Celsius) for the foreseeable forecast so it's back in the garage.

79 here today 😎

Was 60F here today, so I gave The Zippy Truck a spring bath. Will get back down to the 20's in the next few days. Meanwhile my son, south of Denver CO received 24" of snow yesterday.

You don't drive it when the temperature is below 50 degrees F?

Shit, I've taken my convertible out with the top down is sub-freezing temps many times.

Winter is over, Spring is here. Already in the 80s ..
Cant wait till Nov..

I’m not surprised.

Spring is here in Virginia. The peepers are out, our nighttime lows are in the upper 30's but daytime highs are upper 50's to 70. Mowed the lawn two days ago.

The scrub brush off the edge of my yard has leaves coming out, there are buds on the lilac bushes, and the lawn is turning green. This is a good 3-4 weeks early. https://i.postimg.cc/8PLK1KBc/egypt.gif https://i.postimg.cc/8PLK1KBc/egypt.gif https://i.postimg.cc/8PLK1KBc/egypt.gif

Could have taken the Vette out already, but too lazy.

I usually open my pool April 1, but am thinking of pushing it ahead by a week. With this unseasonably warm weather, I have to keep a close eye on the water and hit it with chlorine before it turns green.

I learned last year. As was disabled didn’t open till end of May. Wrong decision. We’re opening 1st week of April also

72 yesterday, supposed to be close to 80 today. Been gorgeous top down weather for the past month, between much needed rainstorms. Lots of snow on the Sierras.

Take it out when you run out of olives or onions for your martinis. Then you'll have a valid reason for bothering. :seasix:

KenHorse 03-17-2024 10:53am

74 yesterday, higher temps today

Newby 03-17-2024 11:00am

Feel for you guys.
86° yesterday 88° today and 90° tomorrow with spring break in full swing.
Bikini time at the beach. :hurray:

I have proper winter tires on my SRT so I drive that.

My Z06 is no garage queen; I drive it daily 7 months of the year on average.

After 56 years of hard drinking, my last drink was on January 28. Not sure how that would work out, but I walk past the liquor bottles a zillion times a day and am not tempted; they are starting to annoy me because they're taking up space.

I have regular radials on my 'vette, no worries with "winter tires". The only reasons to NOT take it out are if it is bitterly cold, like under 20 degrees F, there is snow/ice/salt on the roads, the car is apart as I am working on something, or my knee is acting up.

I had the car out 3 times in February, as we had several rains in a row that washed away all the snow, ice and salt, and everything else was fine. It's a nice day here, mid 50s, and sunny, but my dog bashed into my arthritic knee a week ago, and it hasn't recovered yet, so no ride for me today. :(

Why would you "feel for us"? We are happy that spring is coming early. The change of seasons is a great time to be alive.

We don't feel for you guys either way. If you choose to live in a sweltering, fetid, insect- and reptile-infested swamp year-round -- we don't care.
