[CFB] Week 4 2023 College Football Game Day Thread [/CFB]

WEEK 4

Friday Night Football:
  • Wisconsin @ Purdue (7pm EST on FS1)
  • N.C. State @ Virginia (7:30pm EST on ESPN)
  • Boise State @ San Diego State (10:30pm EST on CBS Sports Network)
  • Air Force @ San Jose State (10:30pm EST on FS1)

Week 4 has some incredible games on tap for us. Saturday at Noon we get a huge ACC showdown between #4 FSU and Clemson. With their loss to Duke, this is all but an ACC Championship & College Football Playoff elimination game for Clemson. For FSU, a chance to pad their already impressive resume (with that BIG win over LSU in Week 1), make up for last week's embarrassing 2nd half, and BURY the Tigers.

In the PAC we'll start to get a clearer idea of who's a contender and who's not. We have 3 ranked vs. ranked match-ups: Colorado vs. Oregon, UCLA vs. Utah, and Oregon State vs. Washington State.

In the SEC West - Unbeaten Ole Miss gets their shot to take out a wounded Alabama team with major QB issues. Like Clemson, Alabama faces what is all but an SEC & Playoff elimination game already in only week 4 of the season.

In the B1G we find out whether or not Iowa is for real as they take on Penn State. And Saturday night we'll find out about that team from Ohio as well . . . .

GAME OF THE WEEK: #6 Ohio State @ #9 Notre Dame

BIG-TIME road test for the Buckeyes, and an opportunity at home for Notre Dame to plant their flag firmly in playoff position. Notre Dame, unlike a lot of top programs, has no questions at QB whatsoever. Wake Forest transfer Sam Hartman is experienced and is lighting it up for the Irish. Does Kyle McCord have what it takes to be the next great college QB for Ohio State? We're about to find out.

Saturday's Notable Games:
  • Rutgers @ #2 Michigan (Noon EST on B1G Network)
  • #4 Florida State @ Clemson (Noon EST on ABC)
  • #16 Oklahoma @ Cincinnati (Noon EST on FOX)
  • Auburn @ Texas A&M (Noon EST on ESPN)
  • #19 Colorado @ #10 Oregon (3:30pm EST on ABC)
  • #22 UCLA @ #11 Utah (3:30pm EST on FOX)
  • #15 Ole Miss @ #13 Alabama (3:30pm EST on CBS)
  • Arkansas @ #12 LSU (7pm EST on ESPN)
  • #14 Oregon State @ #21 Washington State (7pm EST on FOX)
  • #8 Washington @ Michigan State (5pm EST on Peacock)
  • #3 Texas @ Baylor (7:30pm EST on ABC)
  • #6 Ohio State @ #9 Notre Dame (7:30pm EST on NBC)
  • #24 Iowa @ #7 Penn State (7:30pm EST on CBS)
  • Mississippi State @ South Carolina (7:30pm EST on SEC Network)
  • #17 North Carolina @ Pitt (8pm EST on ACC Network)
  • #5 USC @ Arizona State (10:30pm EST on FOX)
  • Cal @ #8 Washington (10:30pm EST on ESPN)

I FULLY expect Oregon, at home, to end this hilarious masquerade, while covering the 21.

ga, mich, and fosu have a decades long history of playing no team in the top 150 on their open dates.
It serves them well, well until they have to play a real team.

No one, NO ONE, travelled more to play the big boys than Bobby Bowden, it is how he built a dynasty.

To appreciate Bowden you must have an understanding of how bad and irrelevant FSU was before he arrived, and how little dollars he had to work with.
His coaching was ALWAYS much better than his recruiting, very few coaches today can say that, VERY FEW!!

Another game of note, hopefully sack of shits auburn can beat jimbob at home, as jimbob sucks.
NOTHING says you suck more than your alumni kicking you weak and pathetic arse out the door with an $80M check.

Prediction:

FSU, UMiami and UF will all move up in the polls after huge wins, spreads covered.
UCF will move into the top 20.
FAU ato remain in the bottom 25.

Repent my brother...while there's still time.

When SuperCoach Prime places his call to the Right Rev. E. Dewey Smith Jr. tomorrow, he will receive the blessing from Dekalb County, in the seat of all College Football power and glory, such that Prime will smite the communists from Eugene and ride victoriously back to Boulder, doubling the African American population for the town.
