.22 ArmaLite Style Rifle, Glock 17

Have the twin grandgirls (16) down this week, and when here, there's always firearms training for them.

This time, a Mossberg .22 long AR style rifle, and the 9mm Glock 17.

At 30', their aim is getting better, confidence in handling weapns is improving, and very safety conscious. They are good kids.

Not too shabby for a glock. Never fired one myself. Can't get past the ergonomics of holding one long enough to spend the money. Works fine I suppose if you plan to aim every shot... But that wouldn't be me.

I have put 49 out of 50 rounds in the 10 ring (498/500) during indoor Glock matches using a well seasoned 19... can't shoot slow fire worth a damn but I have never held anything that's easier to put rounds on target under pressure. There's just something magic about how the weapon returns on target after recoil.... Borrow or rent one someday and put a couple boxes downrange. I bet your opinion will change.

OP... sorry for the hijack; the kids shoot very well.

Well done Grandpa ( Pop-Pop? )

Double / double win. ( or double win for each kid) Not only are you spending quality time with the girls, you are teaching them proper firearm handling.

I'm 61 and can still remember my grandfather praising me for shooting groundhogs on the farm. ( the .22 was kept in the closet and the ammo on the desk shelf. NEITHER were touched without permission)

Teaching them the respect of firearms goes a long way. Once the bullet comes out there are no "take backs"

I love my AR's but I love my G17 more, It's never more than an arm length from me unless the grand kids come over. Then it's put in the safe locked up

You mean I’m not stuck playing makeup and Barbie the rest of my life? Nice shooting.

Glock 19 is my first pistol and my favorite.
