Paint remover.....?
I need to remove automotive paint from a plastic grill. Is there one that won't damage the plastic under the paint? :bigears:
Thanks. |
I have used super clean to remove paint from plastic cars and model part without damage to the plastic. Just soak for an hour or up to 5 days. It will remove the chrome as well if plated!

Hmmmm....wonder if that would take off automotive paint. Pretty hard stuff. :bilmem:

What about brake fluid, I've always heard not to get it on the paint but it comes in plastic bottles and the reservoirs are plastic just a thought

mineral spirits might work, used it to take deck sealer off Blazer.....don't ask.....

lol....I thought I parked it far enough away when I decided to"spray" Thompsons water seal on the deck. Was hardly any wind but.......it was all over it.
Had to wash entire Blazer down with mineral spirits, then wash it,dry it and then wax it...I had a Popeye arm when was done ! But I will say the Blazer was never as clean and the windows were like there was no glass in them ! It takes all the road grime, oils etc off and leaves paint smooth as babys ass....like clay bar. |
