[BR IV] Book your hotel!!! Hampton has a few rooms open as of 5/3/14!! Book quickly!!

UPDATE 5/3/14...It looks like a few rooms have opened up at the Hampton, according to the website. If you want to make a reservation or change over to the Hampton, do it quickly!!

I entered in dates for 5/21 thru 5/25 and Queen and King rooms came up. No doubles, though.

UPDATE 04/14/2014!!!

Hampton Inn is sold out! It doesn't hurt to try them (call periodically), in case there is a cancellation for that weekend. However, some of us WILL have to stay at alternate hotels. See post 32 for the mapping of alternative hotels. The Holiday Inn Express is the closest and actually 'shares' a parking lot with the Hampton.

Original post:

The host hotel will be the Hampton Inn in Bowling Green. Once again, Michael has extended the rate of $99/night.

There is no booking code this year. Therefore, in order to get the rate of $99/night: When booking by phone, be sure to indicate that you are with the Vette Barn Group. If booking online, please indicate that you are with the Vette Barn Group upon check-in.

Please make sure you are booking at the Hampton Inn at 233 Three Springs Road, Bowling Green, Kentucky, 42104. Telephone number is (270) 842-4100.

Hotel Info

Book soon, as it's my uderstanding that there is also a soccer convention that comes into town on the same weekend.

Official dates are Thursday, May 22nd thru Sunday, May 25th. Last of the events are planned and wrap up Saturday evening and (generally) everyone heads home on Sunday. Some get there earlier and some stay later. The rate is good for your entire stay there, even if you stay a few extra days.

Hmmm, first time in 5 years I'll actually be in town for Memorial Day weekend. Might have to make a run down for Wed-Sat.

Do it.

My room has been reserved at the Hampton since 2/3 - now I'm waiting on 5/20 to drive to Bowling Green. :seasix:

Jeff '79 02-16-2014 10:14am

What are the dates of this soire'?

GentleBen 02-16-2014 11:22am

Officially 22 ~ 24 May. Unofficially, many of us get there earlier so that we can see some things that are not on the official schedule.

For instance, I do not believe that any of the Bourbon distilleries such as Maker's Mark are on the itinerary this year.

Hmmm... I'm on vacation that week. It must be providence.
My wife, however, is not.
Maybe my cousin will want to take a road trip.

Damn contract talks. We can't take vacation from 4/15 to 7/1 in case the contract does not get approved. The contract is up 5/15 so might be able to salvage the weekend if all goes well.

Book those rooms and come on down, probably old news, but I heard yesterday that the sinkhole cars will be on display at the museum from April to July, so those attending BRIV will get to see them before they go off for restoration.

I'm coming from LA. You can definitely make it for a few days from Indiana.

I have only one loose end to tie up for the schedule. Waiting on a call back for verification. From there, the NCM review and give the final ok, etc. After that, they put it up and open it up for registration. Coming soon...

Get the Faygo, my friend. I will be there. :D

Update on the schedule: The schedule has been handed over to Stephanie at the NCM. I'm only waiting on the pricing for the railroad tour, as they have agreed to do something special for our group and provide lunch. They'll set up tables and provide a simple box lunch of sandwiches, etc.

They don't have a restaurant in the property, so they will order the lunches for us and have then brought in. They're just waiting on the per person pricing from the caterers. The cost of lunch will then be included in the ticket price for our group tour.

I am currently looking for an activity to replace the autocross, as that is something that Stephanie says the NCM no longer sponsors. I'll find something that we can easily fill in that slot.

The registration will be set up so that all activities can be paid for at once...on the NCM website. The NCM will then turn over payment to the various venues, all of which have agreed to wait until the first weeks in May for final payment and head counts.

All of the activities, even those that don't require payment, will have a drop down box to indicate attendance. This will allow us to have a better head (final) count for all of our reservations, including tours and dinner reservations.

The NCM IT Department is building the registration page. I will put up a sticky as soon as I get word that it's up. They usually shoot me an email as soon as it's ready.
