I have somehow turned into "Aqua-Red"

Not sure how this happened, but I have developed a collection of small 2 stroke outboards that I like to play with.

It started with a borrowed Nissan that a buddy let me use on my dinghy as long as I fixed the water pump and the carb.

I replaced it with this sick little 7.5 single cylinder Eska that came from Hawaii of all places, and had been sitting indoors for 20 years.

My wife didn't like it because it had no reverse, you had to swing the motor all the way around to back up. So I replaced it with a really nice 6 hp Johnson.

The dinghy is too heavy for me to lift onto the bow and I really don't like towing it when we go away for weekend trips so I scored this. It's a 7.5 footer I got for $100. I then grabbed a 2hp lightweight Evinrude 2hp for $80.
The motor ended up being a pain, I had to rebuild the carb only to find the fuel bowl was cracked. I probably have $75 into the motor.

Most normal people are bundled up indoors during a snowstorm, not test running an outboard.

I inherited a 1959 johnson seahorse 3hp when I bought my cottage. Pretty cool little motor, owners manual and everything. I haven't had it running in years but it was the same.....tank on the top, and you turn it 180* to go in reverse.
I should get it out this summer. (aluminum 12ft)

Looks like this.....http://hillcrafters.vpweb.com/0_0_0_...pg?u=293248623

Anything that makes go power attracts you, George. A real fan of powwwahhhhh. :seasix:

I also have a pair of 3.5hp Sears 2 strokes. One ran until I popped a shear pin and the other is for parts. I may throw them up on ebay.

Nono... AquaRed is a short stocky dude in orange and green spandex, that can fix lawn mowers... and talk to fish...

Nice dinghy with the 2 hp. I think it'd be fun to toy with little outboards like that. Always amazed at how pricey outboards are.

Now you gotta quit fooking yourself up so you can kep enjoying the toys.

Those are neat..

I need to start buying up old shop manuals for those to scan as no one ever junks them, they always fix and save them, many people collect them.

I have quite a few manuals for the newer stuff.

If there is anything you can use here just let me know..

Believe it or not, they don't work well for large scale margarita machines, if that's what you're thinking.

Got the 7.5 single cylinder running a little better, still needs some fine tuning once the weather warms up.
