Grey Ghost 12-02-2020 5:23pm

Kinda' rare, I believe, if no holes or cracks in block/heads.

"Tach it up, tach it up
Buddy gonna shut you down
It happened on the strip where the road is wide
Two cool shorts standin' side by side
Yeah, my fuel injected Stingray and a four-thirteen
Revvin' up our engines and it sounds real mean"

Chrysler made 413's for a long time. Valve covers are painted so it's probably one that came in a Polara or a New Yorker. Depending on the year, it may even be a truck motor. Nothing wrong with that..."RB" engines were very stout and could take a pounding.

Now...if you had one with a factory dual quad cross-ram, you'd really have something there.

Years back I worked part time for my buddy that owned a speed shop and had to adjust/balance the carbs on one of those engines (letter series Chrysler) Wow what a pain in the ass. Regular duel 4s or tri power were not near as bad!

Chrysler put lead plugs in the holes at the base of the carburetors to cover the idle mixture screws (mainly the Carter AFB on the Hemi, Carter AVS on Magnum engines and Holleys on the SixPacks). You'd get a more accurate adjustment by removing the plugs and fiddling with them, but it made it twice as hard to balance the carbs properly. Most people just left them in and messed with the main idle screw.
