My plan has always been to have a coupe for 3 years and replace it with a Z06. I DON'T want a first year Z06 with a completely new engine. :willy: I plan on keeping the Z06 forever, like the other 2. :yesnod:

I don't know, man. I'd wait till at least the 3rd year of production before pulling the trigger on the Z. New motor = New problems with GM's shitty quality control these days.

My guess is that's likely what I'll end up with. My '08 Z was a 3rd year, and that seemed to be the sweet spot. :yesnod:

I was told the Z06 and ZR1 would have significant/notable body differences than the standard C8.

Lets hope so.

I think some of that is fallacy. My C7 is the first year, and by many accounts the most trouble free year. Except for oil changes and routine maintenance it's been in once for a new coil that went bad. Other than that it's been rock solid. Not even any recalls of any consequence.

Think they will ever go back to a front engine ?

I want to like them. I really do.

The person that wrote that has probably never shifted a standard transmission in their life and certainly knows nothing of flat plane cranks.

What I'm hearing is they managed to get it right once....

Looking forward to antique plates on my 2003 :D No way I'd live long enough to do that with a 2023.

Dunno about that. With my '09 Z06, I put over 60,000 miles on it, and I didn't blow an engine... :ball:

:leaving:

I would never own a all electric vette. I love the sound of a V8 and chrome wheels. Guess I'm old school.:cert:

I wish they had stuck with the 427 or something larger vs the marketing hype of flat plane crank. Any inline 4 cyl. has one, Ford had it in the Mustang years ago, and now they are trying to play it up like something just discovered.

I see a lot of uninformed people also hyping the balance due to it having a mid-engine placement as if that's something new. Don't know about other generations but my C5 had that 20 years ago. Benefits of a rear transmission I suppose.

Yup, the C5 was the first mid-engine Corvette. :yesnod: The verts also had an integrated roll bar. :yesnod:

ratflinger 07-19-2021 9:47pm

Pfft - the whole engine is behind the front wheel center line in my C3
