Both of my cars. I have the black vert for the week, and turn it in next Friday for Kermit. :yesnod:

Vette needs a bath and a wax big time. :willy: That happens tomorrow.

Already discussed with family, it's all going home. I came with a grand, and that's all I'm playing with, so the $6k definitely goes home, we're doing some house projects (eg. new garage door), so we'll likely move quickly on a new front door, then we need to paint the house. Still need to put a new engine in the '08 over the winter too....not that 6k puts a dent in that.

Nice, now if you can leave with some of that loot in your pocket!:seasix:

We stopped off in Vegas a few years back returning from Hawaii.

Our last morning there while waiting for our ride back to the airport I found a one dollar slug in my pocket. Went over to this huge slot machine by the door. put in the slug and pulled the about 7' lever and low and behold hit for $10,000. Had to hustle to get my winnings and catch the limo, but that last pull paid for our whole vacation!:hurray:

So watt are the tax consequences on that?? I win like that say ten grand, even 100k or more, I would demand cash, and leave ASAP.....

no paperwork, and I would hope I didn't have to ID myself to the casino....

so I never been gambling, walked through on about 5 years ago, but never played anything.....

:confused5:

I ended up with the whole thing even though it was a check. They were changing the shift and a lot of confusion in the cage and the slot machine pit boss was telling them repetitively hurry up they have to catch a plane. I do not know how that works but it certainly worked out in our favor. They had to know who I was as we spent two nights in that casino. All I remember was signing a receipt for the check and that was the last I heard about it. My home bank cashed the check OK, I took it in cash I did not deposit it. (This had to be late 80s)

I was promptly handed a 1099 for my win. No avoiding the taxes.

Black94lt1 10-13-2019 12:07pm

Nice, I never have that kind of luck!

Whenever you're in the casino, draw cash out of their ATM. I'm no tax expert, but I think you get to write losses off against the winnings. I've been told that money drawn from a casino ATM stands up pretty well as proof of losses.

How long did it take to score that win?

Any slot jackpot $1,200 or above requires a W-2G form filled out and signed by the jackpot winner. No chance of avoiding paperwork and producing ID for the jackpot. IRS wants their cut no matter what.

About 1 hour. Had a total of $150 in machine, with 60 left when it hit. And...yeah, I forgot to get my 60 when they cashed me out. :kick:
