I was surprised when we went to Australia how interested most people we met were with our politics. Sad to say, a lot of them were better informed than the average American. These folks know that what happens here has a major influence on them.

Datawiz 09-29-2020 6:44pm

Someone summarize it for me when it's done. I don't have TV, so I won't be watching. I'll lay in bed and watch a movie on my iPad to fill the time.

Stangkiller 09-29-2020 6:49pm

Ill watch as much of it as I can. Taking a bucket of beers to the hot tub.

I am already fighting to stay awake. Hope against hope, Trump will dismantle Biden. I just can't imagine Biden making it through 90 minutes of anything. Well, with the exception of working his way through his second helping of nanner puddin'.

JRD77VET 09-29-2020 7:21pm

I wonder if biden will be wearing baggy pants to hide his diaper? They wanted two breaks, each after 30 minutes.

Team Trump wanted a third party to verify NO HIDDEN EAR PIECES before the debate but team biden denied.

What'cha hiding biden?

If you watch the split screen with Trump and Biden, the blue backgrounds are different shades. They're intentionally trying to make Trump look orange.

He has twisted some statements and spoke jibberish at least 5 times.

Hunter Biden was kicked out of the Navy in 2013 at the age of 44 for failing a coccaine drug test.

He received a direct commission with no enlisted experience.

That doesn't happen unless you know someone.

No one in America really watches this shit to gain insight into either candidate's policies because you've all made your minds up already and nothing either one says or doesn't say is going to change your vote.

It's a dog and pony show for entertainment value only.

I taped it but now I will not watch. From what I understand, I think Trump would have done much better by not interupting and let Biden do his things. Trump should be ready to address everything Biden would throw out there. I think that would have allowed Biden to shoot himself in the foot. I wholeheartedly with Broken Wind.

I agree that this was a net win for Biden, mostly because of numerous missed opportunities on Trump's part. Wallace gave him several softball questions, and Trump nailed exactly zero of them. He also had a few chance to take real shots at Biden, and never took them. Biden was visibly doped up with his eyes all dilated like that, and did stumble several times, but was remotely coherent more than he normally is. Definitely not a big win, but I think Biden comes out of this one better off than he went in. I don't think Trump hurt himself any, but I don't think he gained any ground either.

Norm 09-30-2020 8:43am

After reading all this, I'm glad I didn't watch now..........

z06psi 09-30-2020 8:49am

I think Biden lost because he had to show his centrist side.

The far left will feel like Biden sold out.

C3C7NIC 09-30-2020 8:54am

I've witnessed better debates in high school debate club.

The whole thing was cringe worthy and embarrassing that these 2 are the best the USA could produce.

Trump could have easily laid out what beneficial things he has done for the country (which I believe that list is extensive), instead, he literally acted like an immature child.

Biden did far better than I figured he was capable of, but those drugs he took can not be taken daily for 4 years. :leaving:

Hopefully the Trump campaign manager is able to talk some sense into our prez before the next debate in 2 weeks. :popcorns:

It is. But how many Americans are undecided?

You have two parties on opposite ends of the spectrum and most Americans are diehard Republicans or diehard Democrats.

In Canada the debates are more relevant because we have so many parties and there is essentially no difference between most of them; people watch the debates to see which special interest groups the parties are pandering to so they can hopefully get the handouts they are looking for by voting in the party that most supports to their identifiable group.

I'm a middle aged white male with a decent income so none of the parties are pandering to my identifiable group. In fact they are all out to **** me over in order to take my money and give it to the special interest groups.

Wealth redistribution, I think the leftists call it.

Iron Chef 09-30-2020 2:30pm

I'm just...sad... [RANT]

My Dad fought in World War II. He was on a Destroyer that was awarded seven Battle Stars. His ship was hit by a Kamikaze. Twice. Along with fighting, gallantly, against Fascism, he also fought to preserve the honor of this country. My Mother and her side of the family spent 2 1/2 years in Auschwitz-Birkenau. Most did not make it out alive but those that did wanted to do nothing more than come to America as soon as they could. It was the country that everyone admired and where everyone wanted to go.

After watching snippets of the debate last night, I am completely embarrassed for this nation that these two jokers are the best we can put forward to lead us. That people like McConnell, Pelosi, Schumer, Cruz, Grassley, Cortez and the rest of the bickering, self-aggrandizing politicians have done a superb job of making this country one that is laughed at by the rest of the free world and, sadly, by many of its own citizens. That we have to settle for such a bunch of mediocre individuals who have been put in office by an electorate that is largely misinformed and biased by fabricated stories in the press. Is it not possible to find anyone that has the intelligence, courage, class, foresight and vision to take what has become a steaming wreck of a nation and put it back in balance?

I know...we have always had problems. We're not perfect. But Im not like Madonna: Im not going to threaten to move out of the US because I didnt get what I wanted in an election. But making America great will take a lot more than wearing a hat. It will mean a paradigm shift in how our country is lead. I dont think that will happen in my lifetime.

I'll always love this country, and Im very proud of where weve been. But I'm profoundly sad to see what we have become.

IC, our country is in trouble. I can't begin to imagine what WWII vets think. Politicians have been setting America up for failure for 70 years, and it's coming. When a reckoning does happen, it will be profoundly ugly. And yes, our "leaders" have made us a damned laughing stock. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Trump, and will again, but the fact that he and Biden are the best there is to offer is just damn sad.

You do understand that this is all you are going to get forever, right ? Today, nothing is off limits. You, your family, your childhood, school days etc.... What asshole in their right mind would put their family through that ?

Unless you are a brother marrying Somali. Then all that doesnt matter. The Democrats are geniuses to have played this game to this end.

However, that end has a short life span as dictators always take over all media. The next democrat elected to the WH will have that option as they can fully install full scale election cheating.

I dont care who you vote for. I only care who counts the votes.
