Monitor Questions - Datafiz and Others
We upgraded our exterior security Cameras to 4k, the previous ones were a mix of 720 and 1080 cams. We also upgraded the DVR etc.
The monitor I am using for this system is an ancient VGA and probably around 15-17 inches, the tech that did the work said I needed to upgrade it to a 4k display to get the full benefit...some of the display is a bit wacky with the new cams. Mostly some of the calendar and playback display goes off screen. The old monitor doesn't have an HDMI connection whereas the new system allows it. All of this system is in a hall closet that gets little use, but I need a *cheap* monitor that I can wall mount. Any suggestions? |
I'd bet just about any decent brand monitor (Dell, Samsung, etc.) would be more than adequate for your purposes.
A 22"-24" 4K monitor shouldn't be very expensive and plenty capable. |
Costco has good prices but limited choice. I'd get a 24" or 27" from whomever is cheapest.

It's not like you are gaming or anything. Get the cheapest 24-27" 4K you can find. Costco, Sams, Wally World, Amazon.....

You can spend the money on a 4K for surveillance camera but a good, cheap 1080p will be just a good for your purpose. Sounds like the guy is just trying to upsell something you don't need.
Anyway, everyone know no matter how good surveillance cameras are the video ALWAYS comes out blurry. Case in point all the Bigfoot video.....always blurry. |
Maybe Bigfoot is just not well defined, maybe he is blurry by nature.
