If you weren't into Corvettes, what other sports car would you own/mod?
For me it'd be a Porsche Boxster S hands down. I sold Porsches last summer and got to drive them all and learn about them all. The 987 Chassis Boxster (Cayman platform... they're the same car, 2005+) is hands down the most fun street car I've ever driven (yes more fun than the 997 911 twin turbo). Plus... it's about the only small car I can properly/comfortably fit it. W/ the seat all the way down and back I can fit w/o issue and still heel-toe downshift w/o getting into the steering wheel; Porsche really understands that driving position is everything. The best part of the car is the handling feel and road view... better than anything I've ever driven. Only small issue... they're kind of slow compared to a Corvette, but they're still very fun to drive.
A company called TPC makes a very nice looking single turbo that creates 420ish rwhp on 5.5lbs of boost w/ instant spool. TPC Racing - Porsche Supercharger and Turbo Specialist - Rolex 24 Champion - Cayman Turbo, available now! http://www.tpcracing.us/images/stori...rbo%2002.2.jpg A ride in a TPC Cayman S I'll take mine in Guard's Red w/ a single white center stripe (like the Panoz is done up) lowered on full polished CCW Classics  Oh and w/ the Turbo  Apparently w/ a built bottom-end (stronger rods and lower compression pistons) the turbo will support north of 500 rwhp w/ a little more boost. http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cro...8-4_460x0w.jpg |
I really .. REALLY like the TechArt 911.

I've always wanted to build a custom something. Lotus Super 7, Cobra, etc. I still may do it when I retire.
|
When I purchased the Vette my other option at teh time was a Shelby Replica built by Superformance. I had at the time a 2002 TA WS6 cam'd sprayed etc so that would be my inclimate weather car, but I showed the girl pics of both and said which one she pointed to the Vette so here I am. I still will own a Shelby Replica one day...

I've ridden in a few replica Cobras... they're nuts!

yea had the pleasure of riding in one July 2007 while on leave from iraq and i was sold, the guy had a nicely done FFR Shelby. Yet at the same time I had driven and had used a C5 on many occasions and was wanting one bad!! (Roomate had a 2003 TR) Girl sealed the deal...

I would love to build one of these... minus the ricer bling

Assuming I made the same amount of $, I guess I'd be sporting a 95ish Viper. No paragraph of reasons either - it's just bad azz looking and has a sweet motor.

Seems like these are popping up all over town recently. :cool1: |
If it wasn't for Corvettes I'd be entirely focused on Lamborghini, 50s Maserati and 50s/60s Ferrari sports cars, British track kitcars (Caterham, Ginetta) and 50s/60s British sports cars.

No love for late model F-cars? :D
