New to C6’s

Hello all. New to forum, but not new to vettes. I currently have a 98 C5 vert, and am looking to buy a C6. Have a friend who is selling a 2010 GS with 14k and would like to know if I need to look for anything special. I really like my C5, but it is getting older, and I want to be able to take some road trips without worrying about breaking down on the road. Any thoughts or suggestions. The car has been maintained immaculately.

A good bit here do not have Vettes, that's why you see the low post count numbers in the generation's sub-forums. VB has transitioned to basically political and current topical subjects for discussion, with a large bit of humor and sarcasm.

I had a '10 GS, did a 30 day bucket list trip around the country, traded in for a '14, had 57K on it, and not one bit of trouble except replacing a couple sets of worn tires.

Have a good auto tech go over the car. Good luck.

I currently have 2 C6Z's and have also previously owned 2 C6 coupes. The '06 coupe I drove to 88k miles.

Issues I've had to fix over time in all 4:
  • Auto trans shifter connector replacement (Coupe)
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor (Z06)
  • Crank Pulley bolt (Coupe)
  • Stick shift lower assembly (Z06)

All in all, they've been pretty reliable. My '09Z has 38k miles and was bought with 26k miles 5 years ago. Other than the shifter, it's been pretty reliable.

I won't go into details on the '08Z and all of the stuff that broke over the years, but it's been racing since Day 1 and is about to be on its 3rd engine.
