I don't know. There are folk here from a broad cross section of our country and with all manner of life experiences and political bents. We will almost certainly never unanimously agree on any single point but maybe we can all tone the rhetoric and personal attacks down just a bit. When I first joined here this was a much smaller corner of the web and most folk who posted regularly tended to be a lot more tolerant of opposing viewpoints and not so ready to take offense.
Recently our numbers have grown but with the growth came divisiveness and a general lack of tolerance for others. Many of our old regulars chose to leave as a result (my opinion unsupported by actual evidence) and those who stayed grew claws and horns with which to fight back.
Evolution can be painful, thanks for reading this whole thing.

I make no apologies for loving my country more than I love unity. For 4 years the left had no interest in unity. They finally convinced me that there should be none. I'm on board with their desires. I have no interest in being polite, cordial, compassionate, empathetic, or understanding of the left as a whole. There are individuals and individual circumstances that may cause me to make an exception, such as an illness, family death, pet death, but in general, I have nothing to say to anyone left of center or a Biden voter. I'm ok if they have nothing to say to me either. If this sentiment means that it is best that I leave the barn, I'll be very sorry to have to do that, but I will.

Can't get too upset with what is said or posted here, folks come and go. Usually posting on forums is basically a call for some attention by the poster, kind of a "look at me" or "look what I've done" thing. I'm certainly no stranger to that.

A lot of the posts are good natured with a bit of in-house (between two or several persons) banter going on that some don't understand, but that's OK, most don't care.

So, everybody have a nice day, politics be damned, because there isn't a soul here that can do anything about it. :D
