Damn, my in-laws are in Cebu right now, and aren't leaving until the 10th. This storm looks badass. Yikes.

Tim, I really hope you get yourself and all of your loved ones to a safer place.

Sounds like Tim and family are at the evacuation center with the kids.

I also saw that the storm is weakening and heading a bit north of his island. Hopefully it will just be a bit of rain and that's all.

Irish and the kids all left to higher ground this morning and I have been moving stuff around to better spots to stay dry in case we loose the roof again.

Better safe than sorry I guess..

I just got back home from checking on my family and the feeling is kinda surreal out there tonight.

Not many people out, and the few I saw were carrying sacks of possessions so I assumed they were heading to higher ground places to stay.

The churches and schools are already full of people sleeping there, I guess they wanted to be early to reserve themselves a spot.

The place where Irish wanted to go is over near Sillion on high ground, it's where Tata's mother in law lives, in a group of homes that were built by Islamic Relief.

Nicely built small homes about the size of a one car garage, 14 X 16 foot.. and about 75 of them lined up in rows.

Plenty far enough from the sea and high enough so no problems, and no trees nearby to fall on the homes there either... so that I liked.

Chico my older son came home with me as he was bored there, but we will head back over there sometime tomorrow.

Like Rob said it looks like the eye of the storm is going to pass north of us from the maps online at this time, and the storm has also started to slow down some they say.

So things are looking better now as compared to yesterday anyways..

I think they should just cancel it due to rain myself. :D

How well do you like your in-laws? :island14: :D

I think it is still a signal 2 even down in Cebu City, but goes down to a signal 1 further south of there.

VITE1 12-05-2014 7:30am

Good luck and stay safe Tim.

Rob 12-05-2014 7:40am

Just be safe brother. I don't want anything to happen to anyone there.

island14 12-05-2014 7:54am

Rob I thought about posting this in your Christmas decoration thread but figured here works also..

A few pics from where we will stay tomorrow night during the storm, not as fancy as our hut, but probably a lot safer location.

Last house on the left.

I still may transfer everyone over to Dino's place, but Irish is scared to go back there after loosing the roof last year.

The storm lost, then regained, super typhoon status Friday. By Friday night, it was packing potentially devastating sustained winds of 240 kilometers per hour (150 miles per hour), with even stronger gusts.

They're cool :D They are in a solid building so hopefully they will be okay. You stay safe! Hopefully it won't be as bad as they're saying. Prayers to everyone in the path of this storm.
