Thanksgiving 2020

So our daughter is having Thanksgiving at her house this year with her husbands family which will be around 14 people total. His family has a teenager and a few people that are working, one had to quarantine because a co worked had come down with the china flu :willy: she tested negative but we are wondering if we should bail or go and hope for the best....wondering what people here are doing :confused5:

Having Thanksgiving dinner either here at home (just the two of us) or maybe doing a restaurant.

We just canceled our family thanksgiving yesterday, it would have been ~14 people from 4 families, across 3 states, 2 kids in college, 2 in high school, and my parents at 80+. Not a good idea this year!

Was going to be just the wife and I this year (after last year's debacle, i am not going to entertain her family again). But she invited her mother, so it just might be the two of them... :leaving:

Tough choice. My Pops is 86 years young and this is the first time in 50 years we missed opening day of pheasant season hunting together. All of us have so far evaded infection but damn it is hard to stay responsible and protect our loved ones.

We cannot tell you what to do, only you and your family can decide what is best.

We're living our lives and not hiding under the bed scared. How long will people be scared and quit living their normal lives because of something that almost certainly won't happen. **** that.

Datawiz 11-05-2020 9:29pm

Error on the side of caution. We're not doing anything. If anything, my wife's sister and her beau will be here. They've been here many times during the wu flu, so not stressed. At the end of the day, it's all low key here.

Steve_R 11-05-2020 9:32pm

DON’T GO!!! I just researched and 14 is a magic number. You’d be safe with 13 people, but 14 is super scary. :slap:

Good excuse not to go to my mother in laws. :yesnod:

Well then, let's meet at the tittie bar... :ball:

The election has passed. The Wu flu is no longer useful. I suggest going out and living your lives, people.

Same here. Just have to wear a mask when going to town because the Mayor mandated it.

Rodnok1 11-05-2020 10:10pm

Liz and I are flying solo this year.
With one daughter being a doctor and the other living in Manhattan, we ain't taking any chances.
My doctor daughter told us to be very careful now, so that's what we'll do.
2020 sucks, no doubt about it.

Aerovette 11-06-2020 9:42am

Go. Don't be a sheep.

Not that it matters really as I was just asking what others are doing....Laurie and I are leaning towards going and just take whatever precautions we can...we have gotten our flu shot so short of hugging someone that you know has the flu we're as safe there as we can be. But there will not be much hugging and or kissing for sure on our part.
Whatever everyone here decides to do, please stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving ! We bought our 26.9 lb turkey to bring up and I will try this stuffing this year ! lol

Bill 11-07-2020 9:46am

Be careful while eating the stuffing. Bite down on an uncooked kernel of popcorn and you might crack a tooth.
