***Texas Rangers 2012***

Might as well get it started.

WTF - probably $125M for a Japanese Iranian 6'5" finesse pitcher?

OK JD, did Nolan really sign off on this one?...:confused5:

Pitchers and catchers report Feb 21 (my guess) :hurray:

Go Rangers :seasix:

Can't win em all, but winning 2 out of 3 75% of the time aint't bad.

Just need to get out of Toronto. The Skydome's a dump.

Dang it!!! Have two seats about 8 rows back behind the plate for the Angels Friday night and 70% chance of rain. Yu v CJ. Everybody do their anti-rain dance.

That's gonna be a sweet game. :seasix:

It's already been a crazy season. The Ham Slamwich goes 6 for 6 in two games with 5 home runs and a lowly double, and Colby gives up 3 dingers in the first 7 pitches the next day...:willy:

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis will miss the rest of the season because of a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.
Lewis was evaluated by team physician Dr. Keith Meister before Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox and elected to have surgery. Meister will perform the operation this week and Lewis is expected to be sidelined for nine to 12 months.
''It's a disappointment,'' he said. ''Not only to me, but to my family, my teammates and the organization.''
Texas manager Ron Washington called Lewis the team's ''anchor.''
''You always knew what you'd get when you put Colby Lewis out there, and it's usually pretty great,'' Washington said.
Lewis is 6-6 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts this season. The right-hander has been a key member of a steady rotation that's helped Texas win consecutive AL pennants the past two years. He is 4-1 with a 2.34 ERA in eight postseason starts.
The Rangers put Lewis on the disabled list Monday and recalled rookie left-hander Martin Perez.
S**T :banghead:

Dang the bad luck, sure hate to see that happen to him.

jda67gta 07-30-2012 9:19pm

This is nuts. Last night we watched Scooter Feldman pitch an 8 inning gem, and tonight Oswalt throws a stinker.

I need a beer.:datawiz:

Didn't think they were gonna get any deal done....

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers acquired pitcher Ryan Dempster from the Cubs at Tuesday's non-waiver Trade Deadline for two Minor League players.
The Rangers agreed to send Class A third baseman Christian Villaneuva and pitcher Kyle Hendricks to the Cubs in return. Dempster had been scheduled to pitch on Tuesday night for the Cubs.
Dempster had been rumored for several days to be headed for the Dodgers and was reported to be unwilling to waive his 10-and-5 no-trade veto rights to go anywhere else. But the Cubs and Dodgers were unable to work out a deal and Dempster agreed to join Texas on Tuesday.
Dempster is 5-5 with a 2.25 ERA in 16 starts for the Cubs this season. He was on the disabled list from June 18 to July 8 with tightness in the lat muscle in his right rib cage. He is 2-2 with a 2.74 ERA in four starts since returning.
Dempster was originally drafted by the Rangers in the third round of the 1995 First-Year Player Draft. The Rangers traded him in 1996 to the Marlins for pitcher John Burkett. Villaneuva was hitting .285 with 10 home runs and 59 RBIs in 100 games at Class A Myrtle Beach. Hendricks was 5-8 with a 2.82 ERA in 20 starts for Myrtle Beach.
