A Disney reference got me thinking.
I saw a comment at another site from Raazor about Disney and thought about a story I repeat too often as an insult to my FIL.
Short story is we went to Disney years ago when my oldest turned 5. He was too cheap to rent a Rascal scooter for my MIL, and I pushed her from smoking area to smoking area while he spent the time with my wife and daughter. At lunchtime, rather than eat in tomorrowland like everyone else, he wanted to eat at some boujie cafe he said he always took the kids to when they were young. Just before the check came, he looked at my daughter and asked if she wanted some $25.00 plastic water mister I said no to, and left with her to stick me with a $500 lunch tab. All of a sudden, I just had an epiphany and saw it his way: The last thing he wanted to do at 65 years old in August was travel to Orlando for the day. The rest of his family did not know how much his wife's health had deteriorated. When his cheapass SIL did not rent a power chair for her, he sprung for a regular chair, but there was no way he was able to push it in the 110 degree heat index. At lunchtime, the cheapass SIL wanted hot dogs instead of the usual fare the family was used to, and just as lunch was wrapping up, he saw the vendor with the mister fan the cheapass said no to. Somebody had to save the day... Honestly all I can remember from that day is pushing the lady around all day and paying that lunch tab. I assume I covered the hotel and entry, and I didn't even think of a chair until she rolled up in one. He probably has an entirely different recollection of that day if he recalls it at all. |
This post reminded me of a thread I posted at CFOT 15 years ago.
I got roasted pretty good. Those were fun days back then. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...stumed-up.html |
For the first five years or so that I was married, I tried to be a "team player" and in turn attempted to rationalize (and tolerate) the arrogant and selfish behavior of my then in-laws. Then I got off the team by verbally handing them their ass a few times. After that, my relationship with them could be categorized as "detente."
Which was just fine with me. :seasix: The downside was that it put a strain on my marriage. But there were many strains and that was just another log on the fire. Finally solved the problem with a trip to the attorney's office. |

Probably best to stay away from anything Disney. They're child groomers and pro-deviancy. Not exactly family friendly these days.
https://www.breitbart.com/entertainm...-percent-year/ FWIW, if you don't want your kids exposed to lesbian sexual conduct, stay away from the current Buzz Lightyear film, too. It's no wonder Tim Allen didn't voice Buzz for this, a perversion of the series. I wouldn't want to be associated with that, either. |
