I was probably still a wad in my Dad's sack when that picture was taken. I can still remember going to A&W for rootbeer floats. Would walk there with my cousins and neighborhood friends from Granny's house in Tarpon Springs.

Thanks for the cool picture.

Back then they were.
When they went to corn syrup in the soda, shit went downhill for everyone actually.

Yeah, I remember them, nicknamed The Hot Shops in my parts.

My dad bought one these for me when we stopped there one day. I wish I still had it.

Chevy pauses their woke agenda for just a minute and puts out normal Christmas ad, featuring '57 Chevy:

Maybe somebody told them that half the country ALSO buys cars?

I remember those day, just hitting my teen years in the late 50's, did stop in those places with my dad. :seasix:

No A&W were in the Buffalo, NY area, At one time for root beer in a chilled mug we had a Dog & Suds in a local suburb, Clarence , NY. They closed in the 70's.

Next would be the Tom Wahl's drive-in's , centered around Rochester, NY. They have home made root beer in chilled mugs. Stopped by the Avon, NY location many times in the past, on the way to the Finger Lakes a 68 mile drive.

The mugs were awesome for partying. Put a mug in the freezer for a while and then fill it with a powerhitter, and "drink" your buzz quickly. :cert:

We managed to get a few free ones. (circa, late 50s early 60s) Order through the car hop and the girls knew how many you had and would be sure to get them back. After they delivered your stuff one fellow would walk to the counter and pay for a drink claiming they did not order enough. So the carhop did not know we had another mug. It took them a while to figure this out but a lot of mugs went home that way.

Same here. In the '60s in Concord CA. Trays on the window and got to keep the glass mug. I always had a mamma burger.

Which one of those guys in the photo is Zeek??

Those pre-internet evenings were indeed pretty cool. Good times.

We'd cruise out to Castro Valley and end the evening (morning) at Sambo's.
After a night of racing in San Leandro/Hayward....and out by the CV golf course on Redwood. :seasix:
