First Time With Handguns

1 Attachment(s)
Took my twin grand daughters (15) to the range today, their first time firing handguns, (.22 1911 Sig Sauer, 9mm S&W M&P). Not bad at 21', both using good shooting stance, grip, excellent safety awareness. Could use some more aiming skills, will practice on that next outing. Sent son this pic, asked if he could guess who's who......:D

Well, they're all in the black and better! The one on the right has a better control.
Good for you for introducing them to a brand new discipline that
can bring satisfaction as well as self preservation!

With a little more practice those groups will tighten right up!

Good for you and good for them!

Target on the right shows some decent potential! Good on you.

Just the other month, when the Milwaukee/Kenosha peaceful protest riots were happening, my son-in-law and daughter asked is I needed any more ammo for all of my arsenal (AK,shotgun, pistols)

DJ_Critterus 11-28-2020 10:01am

Where'd you find the ammo?

:Jeff '79: Who doesen't have at least 5000 rounds laying around ?

That was the age that I taught my girls gun safety and then shooting skills.
I must either suck at shooting or be a really good teacher because they're better than me at it.
I found it quite amusing how scared they were at first, and then how they eventually overcame their fear.
Good job Norm !:seasix:

I didn't think so.
I have tons of factory direct, store bought, and reloads.
There is no room in my house to reload anymore though, so it is what it is. Besides, you never know when 2 1/2 lbs of powder might come in handy :Jeff '79:

My reloading bench is an old mahogany veneer Army surplus office desk behind the couch in the living room. All the components fit in the drawers so the only giveaway is the Lee press bolted to one corner. For years and years my shotshell station was wholly contained in a 30x30 inch flip top mahogany box I built. It included a base for the press and room for powder/shot bottles, the charge bars, funnels, the whole 9 yards. Stowed and sitting on my desk it looked like a piece of furniture. If you want to load I bet you can come up with a spot if you think on it a bit!

This was my old set up prior to moving.
I actually could find a place to do it out on the screen porch.

You can do it, and both me and Snide hope you do!
And find a tube amp as well if you think you will play again.
