I try to maintain a "central" viewpoint (yep, some of y'all are on my last nerve), because in the end it actually does require some compromise. Only presenting the gaussian outcasts has made the media money, but not actually solved any of the problems.

For the record, I did not vote for a presidential candidate. While I definitely appreciated the policies of Trump, he is a buffoon. Why can't we find someone that actually has some amount of self-awareness and wants to protect the values that are held dear by many citizens?

Biden? Kidding? Puppet that has now become president along with the CA Willie princess.

Bill D., I know, but just save it. That's not a current option. While I really tend to lean Libertarian, I also believe there should be some sort of safety net for those in need.

Every candidate in the last 100 years, falls in to two categories. Capable or Presentable. That's it. Those are the choices.

Buffoon is a matter of opinion. Capability was not. He could, and did, get the job done.

Agree with most, other than Trump being totally capable. To me, that would include being a competent manager of my online presence. He (maybe purposely?) annoyed anyone that could have helped. Don't get me wrong, I was mortified at the response to him with no real justification. He could have done much better, as I would expect out of someone who is elected to the office.

So again, where do we go from here?

The part that gets overlooked is that he was what was needed and that is why he got elected. We spent DECADES *****-footing around in a flowery field of foreign policy. The problem was a NAIL and we needed a HAMMER. He was that hammer. Just like the attack dog that you buy for protection, you can't be too pissed when he won't catch a frisbee. That's not why you got him. Again, capable vs presentable.

His policies were needed for more than 4 years, and his behavior made that impossible:seasix: He basically lost not only the presidency, but he caused the entire legislative branch to go the other way.

I liked Vator's response and sadly I'm afraid of the fact that it may be where we're at.

Are we now at a point where the the whole equation is that the far left are competing against the far right? If that's the case, I predict that it's much easier to add folks on the left given that's where the freebies are. I think that there's a tipping point at some level where the rational people actually start to coalesce against the edges of the spectrum and give the ~75% their say.

Middle of the road people refuse to fight back, refuse to have those difficult discussions with friends, and allow the left to walk all over the right. That is why you dont get quality candidates. Who the Fk would honestly run for that office, who is both qualified and thick skinned enough? Trump had exactly the right qualities to do it and win. The problem is, he didnt have support so he went rogue. The pubs didnt back him or fight the bullshit. The centrists wouldnt join in the fight. The leftist media and die hards pushed the Russia collusion bullshit hard enough for people to believe it. In the end, Trump was simply one man screaming for help and got none. We all deserve every piece of shit piece of legislation that comes down the pike now.

I have to cut Trump some slack. I cannot imagine his mindset with what he was put through. I can see how easy it would be to go into attack mode. The left bears more than their share of blame for Trumps attitude. I actually thought he was funny as hell. Sometimes (almost all the time) it’s better to just be yourself. Authenticity is important.

Keep in mind, over 72 million voted for him. Probably closer to 78m. I have ZERO doubt the election was stolen.

Libs had to cheat to win. Nothing else.
