Been looking for a couple months for a decent old truck. Looked at quite a few but none just seemed to be the one that I wanted.
Sunday I went and looked at a 1989 Dodge D100 and bought it. It has ac, auto trans, power steering and brakes, tilt wheel and cruise. Only 122k miles, two owners, and a whole book of detailed service history. Only thing I didn't like it is is a V6 but I don't plan on towing anything so I can live with that til I find another one I like more.
Got it for the paltry sum of $3k from an asking price of $4k.
Haven't cleaned it up at all but here are a few pics. And yes, I will be losing the cheesy wheel covers asap.

Nice find. Took me 1.5 years to find my 99 Silverado RCSB. Would look great with body color wheels and dog dish hubcaps.

I consider pickups to be about useless, all about that 'country' style, with little to NO practical value, note that all the serious service companies from ATT down to your local HVAC company, drive VANS, where the tools/parts stay DRY and most importantly ACCESSIBLE........not climbing in/out of some tailgate....or worse yet an aluminum tool box behind the cab.....

and the window vans I used to buy had easily removable bench seats in back, flip them in/out depending on use....

Nice...
...a 225 slant-6 can make some serious HP without breaking the bank.

or

a nice 360...they drop right in and 90% of brackets and hardware bolt up.

I use my truck as a truck all the time. Haul things to the dump, Home Depot trips, moving stuff to and from storage, hauling tree branches. I don't know how I'd function without a truck.

It's kind of difficult to haul 50 bales of hay in a van. Just saying.

sublime1996525 04-29-2020 9:39am

Very cool.

Can't go wrong at that price for a solid, nice truck in that condition. Interior looks great. Do you have the missing trim piece? Not a fan of the big mirrors either. Would look a lot better with some smaller sport mirrors.

I not thinking of FARM work, but the typical suburbanite like around me in Floriduh......more damn new/looking pickups than cars on the damn roads...most of them jacked up and in the way......even if it's redneck territory, I can't see the style.....no farms worth mentioning around here.....

69camfrk 04-29-2020 5:40pm

Didn't you just get an Iroc?

Rikki Z-06 04-29-2020 6:43pm

Nice rig. Very cool. :seasix:
