Supercharger upgrade to TVS 2300
UPS just dropped off a Magnacharger TVS 2300 (early Christmas present). I decided to remove the installed TVS 1900 and upgrade to a little bigger SC. I also ordered a smaller pulley to get the boost level to about 10PSI. Hopefully this weekend I can get started.

I was able to start the TVS upgrade today. First picture of TVS1900 as installed, second picture just before I yanked it off the engine, and third shot is after removing the TVS1900. Hopefully I can find the correct intake manifold tomorrow so I can begin installation of the TVS2300.

I had to call Magnacharger to get the part number for the gasket used on the TVS, GM 19207929, picked it up at local chevy parts counter. It also cross referenced to another part number 89060434 (if needed).
I was able to get the TVS 2300 mounted and a few other parts connected, will continue tomorrow and I have to wait for a couple parts to be delivered Monday. http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...0/GMGasket.jpg http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/t...0installed.jpg |

I got a lot of work done today, I need to do some grinding on the water pump but better wait until I am sober before taken power tools to the Vette. hopefully I can fire it up tomorrow, almost done. |
Very sweet upgrade indeed! I must add that I like the black a lot better but then I am usually in the minority when it comes to bright work appreciation.
Just make sure it's all buttoned up for cruising season! |

I got it fired up with the new supercharger, it started hard but finally started. I still need to reinstall my meth and fab a bracket then wire in a new MAP sensor. For the test drive, low RPM's a little rough, took it to 4K RPM a couple times and it was pulling hard, when deaccelerating it must be pretty rich as the exhaust was popping pretty good. I need to finish the above and tidy up a few things then I will be ready for a tune.

Finally got a day off and finished putting things together enough to get my tune. I played around with my tune and was able to get the AFR in the normal range and it is no longer backfiring on me, I need a tune really bad. Ed (edcmat-l1) will start the tune tomorrow, hopefully I can pickup my toy Saturday then I can post my results.

Got a call from Ed earlier today, the belt is slipping at high RPM, no dyno numbers to report but more important Ed finished the tune and says it is running great.
Looks like no WOT until I upgrade, my next upgrade will be to get away from a six-rib setup, will talk to Ed about options tomorrow. |
Just got back from Ed tuning my toy, it runs great. I need to upgrade to a ten belt system to handle the HP/TQ. Looks like another thread will be coming in the near future.

Did Ed take you for a test drive when you picked it up?
I can say from past experience that he did not baby my car.:willy: (I mean that in a good way) |
